Pastor Ed Ware accepted the Lord Jesus Christ in 1974 while stationed at Kadena AFB, Okinawa, where he met his future wife, Susan. They were married in Norfolk, Virginia, on August 4, 1977. After moving to Arizona, Pastor Ware was led by the Lord to help start a church, and True Vine Baptist Church began meeting in his home September 1988 in Mesa with one other family. Eventually, several families joined the church creating the need to meet in an office building. After several years ministering in Mesa, the Lord moved the church to Phoenix, then further west to its current location in Glendale. Bro. Ware received his training at True Vine Baptist Bible Institute, Norfolk, Virginia, and at Charity Baptist Bible Institute, Dayton, Ohio. They are currently raising three of their five grandchildren, Makaela, Joshua, and Cody.

Pastor Ware preaches and teaches from the AV 1611 King James Bible and makes no apologies for his stand upon the Book. He believes the Bible is the only standard for a Christian's walk and service in the Lord and that this one Book corrects all other books, including the Hebrew and the Greek.
